Washington pays you to electrify
Heat pump installations across our service area frequently qualify for meaningful incentives.
Utility rebates
Puget Sound Energy and Snohomish County PUD offer heat pump rebates for qualifying installations. Homes currently heated by electric resistance — baseboards, wall heaters, or electric forced air — qualify for the most direct utility rebates; other homes may qualify through state programs. Eligibility and amounts depend on program year, equipment tier, and your existing system.
Federal tax credit: ended after 2025
The federal energy-efficiency home improvement credit (IRC 25C) ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025. A 2026 installation cannot claim it, so our proposals do not count on it — utility rebates are the incentive that still applies.
