Heat Pump, Furnace & AC Installation in Tacoma
Tacoma is fifteen minutes down I-5 from our Federal Way headquarters, which makes it one of the cities our crews know best. From the North End and Proctor to South Tacoma, Eastside, and up the hill into Northeast Tacoma, we install heat pumps, furnaces, air conditioning, and ductless systems in homes that span more than a century of construction.
That century matters. Stadium District and North Slope craftsman homes built between 1900 and 1930 have balloon framing, plaster walls, and often no ductwork at all — a natural fit for ductless, or for a carefully routed compact-duct heat pump. South Tacoma and Eastside ramblers from the 1950s usually have gas furnaces on their third or fourth replacement, and the ducts underneath rarely got the same attention. We size for the house in front of us, not the average.
Tacoma also has an advantage most of the region doesn’t: Tacoma Power. Public-utility electric rates typically run below Puget Sound Energy’s, which means a heat pump’s operating cost pencils out faster here than almost anywhere in King County. Pair that with Tacoma Power’s heat pump rebates and the math for retiring an old gas furnace gets very short.
Housing stock we know
Craftsman and bungalow homes in the North End and Stadium District, 1950s ramblers across South Tacoma and Eastside, and 1990s–2000s builds in Northeast Tacoma — each with a different duct and electrical story.
Permits: City of Tacoma
Mechanical permits go through Tacoma Planning & Development Services. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and hand you the closed permit with your paperwork.
Utilities: Tacoma Power + PSE gas
Most Tacoma homes have Tacoma Power electricity and Puget Sound Energy natural gas. We spec rebate-eligible heat pumps and file the utility paperwork as part of the proposal.
